the obama administration. what do you make of this, chris? >> well, you're exactly right. obama had a bad first debate and you don't want to have two bad debates in a row. i don't think that biden will. you know, it's interesting, i interviewed paul ryan last week and talked to him about, about biden and i said what do you think of biden? you've been studying him obviously and prepping for him. he said, look, he's a very experienced guy and been in this for 40 years and you're not going to throw him off his game. and i said, yeah, how about the gaffes? he says he makes those in exte extempraneous on the stump and i don't think that he was spinning me, a strong determined biden. what's fascinating is the contrast between these guys, an old school liberal in the case of biden and a young gun conservative in the case of paul ryan and i mean, these guys couldn't be further apart in their outlook on the government and what they think are the solutions for the country over the next four years. >> and the way they speak, too, right, guys? and paul ryan we talking to huckabee, does paul ryan run

percentages. has the obama administration been successful at branding the medicare plan of the republicans as voucher care and are senior citizens moving away because they're afraid of the medicare changes? >> the ryan budget plan existed in terms of the 2010 election when republicans won 65 plus seniors by 21 points. part of the dynamic that exists here is, in fact, seniors are really unhappy with president obama's health care plan. what you see is this significant concern handling medicare, four years ago republicans would lose that by 25 points. now it's down in low single digits where republicans made significant progress. that is reflected in the medicare poll. >> why are senior citizens in the polls moving away from mitt romney toward barack obama. >> i guess i'm not seeing that in the survey the way you are. when i take a look at issue handling and medicare and seeing how we dramatically neutralize that issue, i'm not seeing it the same way. >> i think medicare is one question. the other question is senior citizens and who do they support? the movement is definitely toward barack ob

attacking the president as weak on national security and that they're going to allege that the obama administration had positive intelligence that there was going to be a terrorist attack in libya. is that attack going to work? >> not at all. in fact, what's interesting is in the last week, when the republicans have been doing trial balloons with this attack, the president's advantage on foreign policy has actually increased. in the battleground poll, it increased by a third. over this period in time. the president's credentials on foreign policy are well-established and what's different about the president and mitt romney is the president has a record and he doesn't play politics with foreign policy. and i think that provides a great deal of security to voters. voters also rank the president as ahead of mitt romney on strong leadership. and that strong leadership is highly correlated with the decisive actions he's taken in foreign policy whether it is getting us out of iraq or finding osama bin laden or waiting to
